Columbia Overland goes fly fishing
Thursday, October 22, 2009
Brent and Larry went fly fishing with a few of our customers over the weekend of Oct 17th, 2009, we were accompanied by Scott Tarrent, Mark Whitlow and Joe Sugura. Mark was kind enough to invite us and a few of our friends up to his private cabin along the Deschutes River just north of Central Oregon near the town of Maupin. A great time was had by all, including most of the fish that “got away”! We had several fantastic meals and even better conversation. The cabin we stayed in was one of the original cabins from when the railroads were originally built nearly 100 years ago, ours was built in 1910 specifically. It was very rustic and authentic looking, basically the perfect fly fishing cabin. We spent two nights on the river and fished nearly every hour of daylight for both days. Only a few fish were caught but a great time was had by all!

The Bill Burke Camel Trophy Slideshow at Columbia Overland had a fantastic turnout. Bill adventures of his previous life is very interesting. Columbia Rovers provided great hamburgers, hot dogs and hot links for all. I would highly recommend spending some time with Bill Burke for anyone who gets the opportunity.
